Dance Club	The Reno Senior Dance Club host monthly dances at the Neil Road Recreation Center. Come and join these friendly active seniors and dance away the afternoon from 2 - 5 p.m.
Brunch and a Movie Club	Meets the first Thursday of every month. See a movie after brunch. Registration is required and the fee is $20
Sierra Nevada Senior Games	If you're 50 years or better, come join the fun! Rolling into its eighth year, the Sierra Nevada Senior Games have become a popular athletic event for active seniors who want to compete with others their age. Twenty-three different sports and events take place both indoors and out.
Paradise Park Community Garden	The community garden features forty-four ground plots, and four raised accessible beds for the use of members of the community with disabilities. The program runs from April through October with plots assigned on a first come, first served basis with a fee of $5 per plot. All participants must attend a required orientation to learn about the program.

The Senior Resource Network 329-5709	Callers receive resource information supporting them in finding programs that fit their needs. Special lists also include Free Food in Our Community and The Free Prescription Medication Packet.
Washoe County Senior Center 328-2575	The Mission of Washoe County Senior Services is to offer continued opportunities for the community`s older adults to maintain dignity, to maintain independence, and to enhance the quality of their lives through the provision of direct and indirect services in a quality, cost-effective manner.
Sparks Senior Center 353-3310	Both Senior Centers have Social Service Departments. They give free assistance on a number of programs such as food, food stamps, meals on wheels, energy assistance, housing, Medicaid and utility rebate programs and more.
The Senior Law Project 328-2592	Free legal help for seniors. Located at the Washoe County Senior Center
Sun Valley Neighborhood Center 674-8555	Many activities for seniors, such as Tai Chi, adult lap swimming and many grandparent friendly activities for you to enjoy with your grandchildren. Give them a call for updated information.
Humane Society 331-5770	Senior Pet Adoption Program. Call for more information.
Care Chest of Northern Nevada 829-CARE (2273)	Lending medical related equipment and supplies to those in need. Limited prescription help. Diabetic supplies also available. Call for income guidelines.
The Salvation Army Social Services Department 688-4563	Emergency needs. Monthly clinic, food, clothing vouchers, vision and dental referral, mattress program and prescriptions (antibiotics only).
Chips 688-2964	Must be eligible for Medicaid and need services in the home. Call for more information.
Women's Health Connection 684-5900	No cost mammograms and pap tests, income guidelines.
Indepth Sock Company 1-516-921-4248 or 1-516-921-6789	Extra large, non-binding, wide socks for man and women. Especially good for people with diabetic or cardiac challenges. Call for an order form or more information.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group 328-2575	Meetings held the second Saturday of each month from 10 am to 11:30 PM at the Washoe County Senior Services Building, 1155 E. 9^th Street.
House Calls 775-575-2727 or 888-575-2727	A computerized Monitor Service that assists people in maintaining their independence. Suggest donation, but no one is turned away because of inability to pay. The only qualification is a need for the daily call.
AARP Safe Driving Class 1-775-884-1842	Attendance in the Safe Driving Class can lower the cost of your insurance premiums. There is a $10.00 fee and they are now conducting classes for all ages in several new locations.
Family Resource Centers 329-5709	Call the Senior Resource Center for information on a Family Resource Center near you.
The Alzheimer's Association of Northern Nevada 786-8061	Call for information on Alzheimer's or other Dementia challenges. Respite care information is also available.
The Continuum 424-2339	Caregiver Support Group available for anyone who is caring for a chronically ill or disabled relative.
The Crisis Call Center Senior Connection 784-8090 or 1-800-992-5757	Offering callers emotional support, crisis intervention and referral information.
Cancer Support Group at Washoe Medical Center 982-4775 (Sally)	Open to patients, family and friends. Meets every Thursday from 11:30 am to 1:00 PM - No fee
The Community Cabinet 359-2222 Extension 159	Helping people in need by supplying basic hygiene supplies. All supplies and services are donated to The Community Cabinet. Call the same phone number to donate.

The Mission of Washoe County Senior Services is to offer continued opportunities for the community`s older adults to maintain dignity, to maintain independence, and to enhance the quality of their lives through the provision of direct and indirect services in a quality, cost-effective manner. Available programs at Senior Services include: Benefit Assistance - A staff of licensed social workers is available to provide assistance with applications and to answer any questions regarding availble resources in the community. Daybreak - The Daybreak Program offers group care during the day in a safe, comfortable environment for disabled persons. Homemaker Program - Provides assistance in the performance of activities related to housekeeping and with activities of daily living. Nutrition - The nutrition program provides one meal per day at two senior centers and five satellite sites; home delivered meals; assessment and screening; and nutrition education. Senior Law Program - Provides consultation and representation in legal matters, excluding criminal, divorce, bankruptcy, trusts, and fee generating cases. Recreation - Activities are held throughout the month at both senior centers to encourage socialization and physical activity. Special Events and New Activities: SHIP - SHIP provides information, counseling and assistance to Medicare Beneficiaries in Nevada involving a statewide network of volunteers. SHIP includes Project NEON (Nevada Elders on the NET), a statewide network of Internet access points for seniors.

A Computerized Safe Drivers Traffic School Visit their site
We offer computerized traffic school courses that can be done online at nevadascheapesttrafficschool.com from the comfort of your own home at your leisure. When you finish the online course all you have to do is go to one of our testing sites to take a short test, get your certificate and pay the low price of $9.95 for seniors age 55 and over and $14.95 for under 55. If you do not have access to a computer at your home we also offer a computer course in our offices for the same low price. You can use this certificate to receive discounts on your auto insurance, no matter who you are insured with, for 3 years. You can also use the certificate to get demerit points off your license. Our testing centers are conveniently located in Sparks, Carson City, and Las Vegas. If you have any questions you can call 358-1011 in Sparks or 883-4587 in Carson City.
