Dance Club The Reno Senior Dance Club host monthly dances at the Neil Road Recreation Center. Come and join these friendly active seniors and dance away the afternoon from 2 - 5 p.m.
Brunch and a Movie Club
Meets the first Thursday of every month. See a movie after brunch. Registration is required and the fee is $20
Sierra Nevada Senior Games
If you're 50 years or better, come join the fun! Rolling into its eighth year, the Sierra Nevada Senior Games have become a popular athletic event for active seniors who want to compete with others their age. Twenty-three different sports and events take place both indoors and out.
Paradise Park Community Garden The community garden features forty-four ground plots, and four raised accessible beds for the use of members of the community with disabilities. The program runs from April through October with plots assigned on a first come, first served basis with a fee of $5 per plot. All participants must attend a required orientation to learn about the program.

AARP Safe Driving Class

Attendance in the Safe Driving Class can lower the cost of your insurance premiums. There is a $10.00 fee and they are now conducting classes for all ages in several new locations.

The Mission of Washoe County Senior Services is to offer continued opportunities for the community`s older adults to maintain dignity, to maintain independence, and to enhance the quality of their lives through the provision of direct and indirect services in a quality, cost-effective manner.

Available programs at Senior Services include:
Benefit Assistance - A staff of licensed social workers is available to provide assistance with applications and to answer any questions regarding availble resources in the community.
Daybreak - The Daybreak Program offers group care during the day in a safe, comfortable environment for disabled persons.
Homemaker Program - Provides assistance in the performance of activities related to housekeeping and with activities of daily living.
Nutrition - The nutrition program provides one meal per day at two senior centers and five satellite sites; home delivered meals; assessment and screening; and nutrition education.
Senior Law Program - Provides consultation and representation in legal matters, excluding criminal, divorce, bankruptcy, trusts, and fee generating cases.
Recreation - Activities are held throughout the month at both senior centers to encourage socialization and physical activity.
Special Events and New Activities:
SHIP - SHIP provides information, counseling and assistance to Medicare Beneficiaries in Nevada involving a statewide network of volunteers. SHIP includes Project NEON (Nevada Elders on the NET), a statewide network of Internet access points for seniors.

A Computerized Safe Drivers Traffic School

We offer computerized traffic school courses that can be done online at nevadascheapesttrafficschool.com from the comfort of your own home at your leisure. When you finish the online course all you have to do is go to one of our testing sites to take a short test, get your certificate and pay the low price of $9.95 for seniors age 55 and over and $14.95 for under 55. If you do not have access to a computer at your home we also offer a computer course in our offices for the same low price. You can use this certificate to receive discounts on your auto insurance, no matter who you are insured with, for 3 years. You can also use the certificate to get demerit points off your license. Our testing centers are conveniently located in Sparks, Carson City, and Las Vegas. If you have any questions you can call 358-1011 in Sparks or 883-4587 in Carson City.
